Product description

BLUESIL® RTV 3040 B is the B component of the two-component silicone system BLUESIL® RTV 3040. Together with RTV 3040 A, it forms a room-temperature-curing silicone elastomer with excellent elasticity, tear resistance, and detail reproduction. Component B ensures uniform cross-linking without shrinkage and enables the production of highly flexible, rubber-elastic molds for technical or creative applications. The system is ideal for casting plaster, wax, synthetic resins, or polyurethanes. Processing is simple with a ratio of A:B = 100:5 to 100:10 (depending on the desired pot life and hardness).

Processing instructions

  1. Stir RTV 3040 A and B well

  2. Mixing ratio 100:5 to 100:10 (depending on desired reactivity)

  3. Mix components thoroughly and slowly, avoiding air bubbles.

  4. Deaerate mixture immediately (vacuum recommended for fine details)

  5. Pour into prepared mold or apply to model

  6. Curing at room temperature (2–6 hours, depending on the mixing ratio)

  7. Demolding after complete cross-linking

  8. Avoid contact with tin, amine, or sulfur compounds.

  9. Seal leftovers in an airtight container and store in a cool place.
