Permabond® 943 – Low-odor, high-viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive with no blooming effect

Permabond® 943 is a high-performance cyanoacrylate adhesive based on alkoxyethyl, which has been specially developed for applications requiring increased viscosity. It is virtually odorless, free of efflorescence, and therefore enables aesthetically flawless bonding—even on dark or visible surfaces.

With a viscosity of 90–110 mPa·s, Permabond® 943 offers ideal flow characteristics for applications where larger gaps of up to 0.15 mm need to be bridged. Curing takes place within a few seconds, while full final strength is achieved after 24 hours. On steel, the adhesive achieves a shear strength of up to 20 N/mm².

Thanks to its high dielectric strength (25 kV/mm), good impact resistance, and temperature resistance from -55 °C to +120 °C (briefly above), Permabond® 943 is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. It is 100% reactive, solvent-free, and therefore an environmentally friendly, safe choice for professional users.

product features

  • Low odor – pleasant working comfort
  • No efflorescence – clean appearance even on dark surfaces
  • Higher viscosity (90–110 mPa·s) – ideal for larger gaps up to 0.15 mm
  • Very fast curing (hand strength usually within 2–15 seconds)
  • Final strength after 24 hours
  • High shear strength up to 20 N/mm² on steel
  • Electrical breakdown strength: 25 kV/mm
  • Temperature resistant from -55 °C to +120 °C
  • Impact resistance: 3–5 kJ/m²
  • 100% reactive, solvent-free

Suitable materials

  • Metals (steel, aluminum, zinc)
  • Plastics (ABS, PC, phenolic resin, PVC)
  • Elastomers (neoprene, NBR)
  • Ceramics and composite materials
  • Porous surfaces in combination with Permabond CSA Activator
  • Polyolefins (PE, PP, PTFE) and silicone after pretreatment with Permabond POP Primer

Typical areas of application

  • Electronics and electrical engineering (e.g., assembly of components, sensors)
  • Automotive industry and suppliers
  • Equipment and apparatus manufacturing
  • Household appliances and consumer goods manufacturing
  • Model making and hobby sector
  • Precision bonding in precision engineering assemblies
  • Applications in poorly ventilated production environments

Processing instructions

  1. Thoroughly clean and degrease surfaces and, if necessary, lightly roughen them (e.g., with Permabond Cleaner A).
  2. Apply a small drop of adhesive to a surface.
  3. Align the parts precisely and hold them together for a few seconds.
  4. Remove excess adhesive with Permabond CA Solvent.
  5. For porous or difficult surfaces, use Permabond CSA Activator.
  6. For PE, PP, PTFE, and silicone, use Permabond POP Primer before bonding.
  7. Store at 2–7 °C. Bring to room temperature before use to prevent condensation.
