Permabond® 941 – Low-odor, non-blooming cyanoacrylate adhesive for precise, clean bonding

Permabond® 941 is a highly developed cyanoacrylate adhesive based on alkoxyethyl, which has been specially developed for applications requiring clean and low-odor processing. The product impresses with its "non-blooming" character, which makes it particularly suitable for visible and dark surfaces where appearance is crucial.

Thanks to its low viscosity of 10–20 mPa·s, it can be applied precisely and spreads evenly between the parts to be joined. Curing takes just a few seconds, while final strength is achieved after 24 hours. With shear strengths of up to 20 N/mm² (on steel), Permabond® 941 is suitable for high-strength, durable bonds.

In addition to its high mechanical strength, the adhesive offers excellent electrical breakdown resistance and good temperature and chemical resistance. It can even withstand higher thermal loads for short periods, such as those that occur in soldering or stoving processes.

Permabond® 941 is 100% reactive, contains no solvents, and is therefore an environmentally friendly yet powerful solution for a wide range of industrial applications.

product features

  • Low odor – for improved working comfort
  • No efflorescence effect – perfect appearance on dark surfaces
  • Fast curing (hand strength usually within 2–15 seconds)
  • Final strength within 24 hours
  • Shear strength up to 20 N/mm² on steel
  • High electrical breakdown strength (25 kV/mm)
  • Temperature resistant from -55 °C to +120 °C
  • Solvent-free and 100% reactive
  • Easy to use without mixing or heat application

Suitable materials

  • Metals (steel, aluminum, zinc)
  • Plastics (ABS, PC, phenolic resin, PVC)
  • Elastomers (neoprene, NBR)
  • Ceramics and composite materials
  • Porous surfaces in combination with Permabond CSA Activator
  • Polyolefins (PE, PP, PTFE) and silicone in combination with Permabond POP Primer

Typical areas of application

  • Electronics and electrical engineering (e.g., sensors, component assembly)
  • Precision engineering and precision instrument manufacturing
  • Automotive and supplier industry
  • Household appliances and consumer goods production
  • Model making and hobby applications
  • Bonding with high optical requirements
  • Applications in poorly ventilated production environments

Processing instructions

  1. Clean and degrease surfaces and, if necessary, lightly roughen them (recommended: Permabond Cleaner A).
  2. Apply a drop of adhesive to a surface.
  3. Assemble parts quickly and precisely, fix in place for a few seconds.
  4. Remove excess adhesive with Permabond CA Solvent.
  5. Use Permabond CSA Activator for porous surfaces.
  6. For PE, PP, PTFE, and silicone: Pre-treat with Permabond POP Primer.
  7. Store at 2–7 °C; bring to room temperature before use.
