Permabond® 791 – Ultra-low viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive
Permabond® 791 is a single-component cyanoacrylate adhesive that has been specially developed for fast, reliable bonding of small parts made from a wide variety of materials. Thanks to its ultra-low viscosity (15–50 mPa·s), it penetrates deep into porous surfaces and is ideal for use on already assembled joints.
The adhesive bonds materials such as plastic, rubber, metal, paper, cardboard, and leather within seconds and reaches its final strength after 24 hours. With a gap-filling capacity of up to 0.1 mm, it is ideal for precise, gap-free bonding. It offers high shear and tensile strength as well as good heat and chemical resistance.
product features
- Ultra-low viscosity for optimal penetration
- Very fast curing: Hand-tight in 2–3 seconds (depending on the material)
- Gap filling capacity up to 0.1 mm
- High shear strength: 18–22 N/mm² (steel)
- Tensile strength: >20 N/mm²
- Temperature resistance: -55 °C to briefly above +100 °C
- Hardness: 85 Shore D
- Transparent/colorless
- Chemical basis: ethyl cyanoacrylate
- MIL-A-46050C Type II Class 1 and CID A-A-3097 Type II Class 1 certified
Suitable materials
- Plastics (including difficult surfaces with primer)
- Rubber (e.g., Buna N)
- Metals (steel, aluminum, copper, etc.)
- Paper & Cardboard
- leather
Typical areas of application
- Assembly of small plastic and metal parts
- Repairs in model making and electronics
- Bonding of seals and O-rings
- Manufacture and repair of leather and textile articles
- Fine repairs in the craft and hobby sector
Processing instructions
- Surface preparation: All surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry, and free of grease. Permabond Cleaner A is recommended.
- Application: Apply a thin film (one drop is sufficient) to one of the surfaces. Join the parts together quickly and precisely aligned.
- Fixing: Apply even pressure and do not move during the few seconds of curing time.
-
Special cases:
- For porous/heavy surfaces, use Permabond CSA Activator.
- Treat polypropylene, polyethylene, PTFE, or silicone beforehand with Permabond Polyolefin Primer (POP).
- Cleaning: Remove excess adhesive with Permabond CA Solvent 2.
storage
- Store in a cool place (34–46 °F).
- Bring to room temperature before use to prevent condensation.
