Acrystal Thixotropic Agent – Highly effective additive for adjusting the viscosity of Acrystal products

Acrystal Thixotropic Agent is a liquid, opaque, non-toxic, odorless additive specially developed to adjust the viscosity of Acrystal products. It facilitates adhesion to vertical surfaces such as mold sides, mold nozzles, and polystyrene foam cores, enabling precise processing without unwanted runoff of the mixture. The use of the thixotropic agent is particularly indispensable when applying Acrystal gelcoats or spraying with a gun.

The additive is slowly stirred in at the end of the mixing process (liquid + powder) until the desired consistency is achieved. If the recommended dosage is adhered to, the mechanical properties of the end product are not impaired. However, an excess can prevent setting and reduce stability.

Processing instructions

• Addition at the end of the mixing process (liquid + powder)
• Stir slowly until the desired consistency is achieved.
• Mischgeschwindigkeit: < 300 U/min
• Recommended amount at 20 °C: 0.2–0.3% of total weight
• Maximum amount: 1%
• Avoid overdosing, as this can prevent setting and impair the mechanical properties.
