Permabond® 922 – High-viscosity, high-temperature instant adhesive for strong bonds at temperatures up to 250°C
Permabond® 922 is a high-viscosity, single-component cyanoacrylate adhesive with excellent high-temperature resistance and high initial strength. The formulation is based on allyl cyanoacrylate and has been specially designed for industrial applications where permanent adhesive bonds under thermal stress are required.
Even at room temperature, the adhesive reaches its initial strength in seconds and develops its full adhesive strength after 24 hours. For extreme temperatures, a secondary curing process can be activated, making Permabond® 922 resistant to temperatures of up to 250°C—ideal for soldering processes or baking enamels, for example. Its viscosity of 1,200–2,000 mPa·s allows larger gaps of up to 0.4 mm to be bonded.

Suitable materials
- Metals: steel, aluminum
- Plastics: polystyrene, polycarbonate, ABS
- Elastomers: Buna-N, NBR
- phenolic resins
- Other plastics and rubber materials
Typical areas of application
- High-temperature processes in industry
- Electronics and electrical engineering
- Automotive manufacturing and vehicle components
- Machinery and equipment manufacturing
- Painting and soldering processes
- Precision bonding with larger tolerances
Processing instructions
- Clean and degrease the bonding surfaces (e.g., Permabond Cleaner A), lightly sand if necessary.
- Apply adhesive sparingly to one side.
- Align parts precisely and assemble them.
- Apply even pressure – curing begins immediately.
-
For maximum temperature resistance:
– Fix for 4 hours at room temperature
– Post-cure for 2 hours at 150°C - Excess adhesive can be removed with Permabond CA Solvent, acetone, or nitromethane.
- For porous or critical materials: Use Permabond CSA Activator.
- For polyolefins (PP, PE, PTFE, silicone): Pre-treatment with POP primer required.
