SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt — Medium-to-high viscosity PDMS silicone oil

SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt is a medium-to-high-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) that, due to its higher molecular weight, falls between universal silicone oils and high-viscosity damping fluids. It offers outstanding lubrication and damping properties combined with high thermal and electrical resistance—ideal when low-viscosity oils flow too quickly and high-viscosity oils would be too difficult to dispense.

product benefits

  • Consistent damping characteristics over a wide temperature range
  • Excellent resistance to high temperatures and oxidation
  • Excellent Electronics and Cable Coating
  • Excellent dielectric properties, consistently low loss factors
  • Carrier fluid for silicone grease formulations
  • Resistant to moisture, UV rays, and oxidative stress
  • Low temperature dependence — consistent performance

Typical Applications by Industry

  • Mechanical damping: Torsion and shock absorbers in precision instruments, measurement technology, and automotive applications
  • Electronics: Impregnation of coils, transformer windings, and sensor assemblies
  • Cable and Line Construction: Filling Oil in High- and Medium-Voltage Cables for Voltage Gradient Regulation
  • Silicone grease base: Carrier fluid for silicone greases containing thickeners (pyrogenic silica, lithium soaps, etc.)
  • Antifoam concentrates: Highly concentrated defoaming base for mineral oil and water systems
  • High-temperature lubrication: Rolling-element and sliding-contact lubrication at elevated operating temperatures

Processing and Compatibility

  • Compatible with most organic solvents (aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, ethers, esters)
  • Emulsifiable using standard emulsifiers and techniques (rotor-stator, high-pressure homogenization)
  • Typical dosage as a surface additive: 0.1–1%
  • In formulated or cosmetic products: 1–10%, depending on the formulation
  • Inmiscible with water and highly polar solvents (methanol, glycerin)

Storage, Handling, and Shelf Life

  • Store in original containers, in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at temperatures below 60 °C
  • Unopened products typically remain stable for years—the exact shelf life is specified in the TDS
  • Close tightly after opening to prevent moisture from entering
  • Avoid eye contact — mandatory information in the safety data sheet (SDS)

Available sizes

  • 1 kg bottle (sample bottle)
  • 5-kg canister
  • 25-kg canister
  • 200-kg drum
  • 1,000 kg IBC (upon request)

SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt is packaged and tested by SILITECH AG in Switzerland and shipped from our Swiss warehouse. Every batch is traceable; we provide batch certificates upon request. Frequently Asked Questions About SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt

The most important answers regarding applications, features, and availability.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt is a medium-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane and is particularly suitable for mechanical damping, impregnation of electronics and cables, as a carrier fluid for silicone greases, and in high-temperature lubrication applications.

The distinctive feature of SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt is its higher molecular weight. It provides a stable damping curve combined with low volatility and high thermal stability. Medium-to-high-viscosity PDMS oils retain their properties even after prolonged thermal stress. The exact specifications—in particular viscosity (750 cSt), density (0.971 g/cm³), flash point (>300 °C), and pour point (-50 °C)—are also listed as product attributes and can be filtered in the shop.

Yes. SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt is an excellent electrical insulator with a dielectric strength of approximately 14 kV/mm, a dielectric constant of approximately 2.7, and a specific volume resistivity in the order of 10¹⁵ Ω·cm. This makes the product particularly suitable for dielectric and electronic impregnation applications.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 750 cSt is available from our Swiss warehouse in standard sizes of 1 kg, 5 kg, 25 kg, 200 kg, and 1,000 kg. Other sizes and packaging options are available upon request to meet customer specifications—we provide a free sample for preliminary testing.
