SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt — Medium-to-high viscosity PDMS silicone oil
SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt is a medium-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) that, due to its higher molecular weight, falls between universal silicone oils and high-viscosity damping fluids. It offers outstanding lubrication and damping properties combined with high thermal and electrical resistance—ideal when low-viscosity oils flow too quickly and high-viscosity ones would be too difficult to dispense.

Frequently Asked Questions About SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt
The most important answers regarding applications, features, and availability.
SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt is a medium-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane and is particularly suitable for mechanical damping, electronics and cable impregnation, as a carrier fluid for silicone greases, and in high-temperature lubrication applications.
The distinctive feature of SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt is its higher molecular weight. It provides a stable damping curve combined with low volatility and high thermal stability. Medium-to-high-viscosity PDMS oils retain their properties even after prolonged thermal stress. The exact specifications—in particular viscosity (3000 cSt), density (0.973 g/cm³), flash point (>300 °C), and pour point (-48 °C)—are also listed as product attributes and can be filtered in the shop.
Yes. SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt is an excellent electrical insulator with a dielectric strength of approximately 14 kV/mm, a dielectric constant of about 2.7, and a volume resistivity in the order of 10¹⁵ Ω·cm. This makes the product particularly suitable for dielectric and electronic impregnation applications.
SILISIL Silicone Oil 3000 cSt is available as standard in 1 kg, 5 kg, 25 kg, 200 kg, and 1000 kg from our Swiss warehouse. Other packaging sizes and containers are available upon request according to customer specifications—we provide a free sample for preliminary testing.
