Permabond® A1062 – Anaerobic bonding adhesive with UV secondary curing
Permabond® A1062 is a single-component, anaerobic, methacrylate-based bonding adhesive that has been specially developed for high-strength metal joints. It cures reliably in narrow gaps without oxygen or metal contact. A special feature of this adhesive is its secondary curing mechanism through UV light, which can be used to selectively cure excess material on the surface.
Thanks to its low viscosity, Permabond® A1062 can also be applied retrospectively to already assembled components via capillary action. The adhesive fluoresces under UV light, allowing for easy quality control. With its excellent chemical resistance, high temperature resistance, and suitability for use in specialized areas such as ammunition manufacturing, Permabond® A1062 is a universally applicable high-performance adhesive for professional applications.
product features
- Single-component anaerobic bonding adhesive
- Secondary UV curing possible (365–420 nm)
- Very low viscosity (10–20 mPa.s) – ideal for capillary applications
- Fluorescent for quality control
- Excellent chemical resistance
- High temperature resistance from -55 °C to briefly over 150 °C
- Shear strength (steel ISO10123): 7 MPa
- Hand strength on steel after approx. 20 minutes, functional strength after approx. 60 minutes
Suitable materials
- Steel, stainless steel, aluminum
- Brass and copper alloys
-
Galvanized metals
(Note: not suitable for applications involving steam or pure oxygen; check compatibility with thermoplastics before use.)
Typical areas of application
- Metal joints in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and the automotive industry
- Retrofitting waterproofing and securing already installed components
- Ammunition sealing – sealing between bullet and casing, additional moisture barrier through UV curing
- Applications requiring high resistance to chemicals and temperatures
Processing instructions
- Thoroughly clean, degrease, and dry surfaces (e.g., with Permabond Cleaner A).
- Apply adhesive directly to the joining surfaces or after assembly using capillary action.
- Assemble components and ensure that no air is trapped.
- Cure excess adhesive with UV light (365–420 nm).
- For faster curing on inactive surfaces or at low temperatures, we recommend using Permabond Activator A905 or moderate heating.
storage
- Store in a cool, dry place at 5–25 °C.
- For industrial/professional use only
- Keep out of reach of children.
