Permabond® 4C30 – Medical-grade instant adhesive for gaps and challenging materials

Permabond® 4C30 is a single-component, medium-viscosity instant adhesive specially developed for industrial and medical applications with gaps up to 0.38 mm. Thanks to its high reactivity, it achieves hand strength within 15 seconds on a wide range of materials such as metal, rubber, and plastic. The adhesive is particularly suitable for automated dispensing and high-speed production processes. Thanks to its proven biocompatibility in accordance with ISO 10993-5 and USP Class VI , Permabond® 4C30 is ideal for medical technology applications, such as the manufacture of disposable products or assembly processes in medical device manufacturing.

Product features:

  • Medically approved adhesive (ISO 10993-5, USP Class VI)
  • Medium viscosity (1200–2400 mPa.s) for applications with gaps up to 0.38 mm
  • Very fast curing: Hand-tight in approx. 15 seconds
  • High shear strength on steel (up to 22 N/mm²)
  • 100% reactive, solvent-free
  • Good electrical insulation (25 kV/mm)
  • Temperature resistant from -55 °C to briefly over 100 °C
  • Ideal for automatic dosing systems

Suitable materials

  • Steel, aluminum, zinc
  • Natural and synthetic rubbers
  • ABS, PVC, phenolic resins

Typical areas of application

  • Medical devices and disposable products
  • Bonding in medical technology and device assembly
  • Assembly of plastic and rubber components
  • Industrial series production with automated application
  • Applications with slightly inaccurate fits

Processing instructions

  • Clean the surfaces to be joined and roughen them slightly if necessary.
  • Apply adhesive sparingly to one side
  • Align and press together the parts to be joined
  • Fixing time: approx. 15 seconds, full strength after 24 hours
  • For difficult substrates, use Permabond CSA or POP.
  • Refrigerated storage at 2–7 °C recommended; bring to room temperature before use
