Permabond® 4C10 – High-purity instant adhesive for demanding plastic and rubber bonds

Permabond® 4C10 is a high-purity, single-component instant adhesive with medical fitnessIts low viscosity ensures fast and deep wetting, enabling strong and durable bonds even with difficult materials such as EPDM, butyl rubber, or other synthetic and natural elastomers. Due to its high reactivity, Permabond® 4C10 achieves hand strength within seconds, making it particularly suitable for fast industrial manufacturing processes. In addition, the adhesive has proven biocompatibility according to ISO 10993-5 and USP Class VI, making it suitable for medical applications.

product features

  • Low viscosity (30–50 mPa.s) for fast wetting
  • Very fast curing: hand strength often achieved in less than 10 seconds
  • Very high strength on steel (up to 22 N/mm²)
  • Suitable for materials that are difficult to bond, such as EPDM, butyl, and natural rubber
  • Medical suitability: Compliant with ISO 10993-5 and USP Class VI
  • 100% reactive, solvent-free
  • High electrical insulation capacity (25 kV/mm)
  • Temperature resistant from -55 °C to briefly >100 °C

Suitable materials

  • EPDM and butyl rubber
  • natural rubber
  • Hard and soft PVC
  • ABS, PC, phenolic resins
  • Aluminum, steel, zinc

Typical areas of application

  • Disposable medical products
  • Sealing and rubber components
  • Plastic assemblies in electronics and device manufacturing
  • Precision bonding in industrial assembly processes
  • Bonding difficult substrates in series production

Processing instructions

  • Clean and degrease surfaces and roughen them slightly if necessary.
  • Apply adhesive sparingly to one joint surface.
  • Quickly join parts together and press lightly
  • Fixing time a few seconds, full strength after 24 hours
  • Permabond CSA or POP can be used as a primer on difficult substrates.
  • Store adhesive at 2–7 °C; bring to room temperature before use.
