Permabond® 2010 – Thixotropic cyanoacrylate adhesive for porous and vertical applications

Permabond® 2010 is a single-component, medium-viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive with thixotropic flow properties. It has been specially developed for applications where the adhesive must not run, e.g., on vertical surfaces or porous materials. Its fast curing and high gap-filling properties make it ideal for bonding a wide variety of materials such as rubber, plastic, metal, and thermosets.

product features

  • Thixotropic – no running on vertical surfaces
  • Fast curing in 10–15 seconds (depending on material)
  • Gap bridging up to 0.5 mm
  • Solvent-free, 100% reactive
  • Good chemical resistance and impact resistance
  • Temperature resistant from -55°C to +80°C (higher for short periods)

Suitable materials

  • Elastomers: e.g., NBR (Buna N), EPDM
  • Plastics: ABS, PVC, PC (with primer if necessary), also porous materials
  • Metals: steel, aluminum, zinc
  • Thermosets: e.g., phenolic resins

Typical areas of application

  • Bonding of vertical or overhead mounted components
  • Fastening rubber or plastic elements to housings
  • Porous materials such as ceramics, wood, or textiles
  • Electronics assembly requiring high precision and rapid fixation

Processing instructions

  • Apply adhesive sparingly to only one of the two surfaces.
  • Align and press parts together precisely in seconds
  • Do not move the fixture during curing.
  • Use Permabond CSA Activator for difficult surfaces.
  • Permabond POP Primer is required for polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE, or silicone.
  • Remove excess adhesive with Permabond CA Cleaner.

storage

  • Recommended storage temperature: 2–7°C
  • Protect from sunlight and heat sources
  • Bring to room temperature before use.
