LOCTITE EA 9483 is a low-viscosity, colorless epoxy adhesive based on a two-component system (resin + hardener) for industrial applications that require maximum transparency, strength, and dimensional stability. After mixing, LOCTITE EA 9483 cures at room temperature, producing a highly transparent bond with minimal shrinkage. The adhesive is characterized by outstanding impact resistance, excellent chemical resistance, and high mechanical values. This makes LOCTITE EA 9483 perfect for bonding and potting glass, plastics, wood, metal, GRP, and other materials—for example, for display cases, design objects, or technical assemblies where a clear appearance is required.
The product has excellent temperature and media resistance and remains stable even under temperature fluctuations and humidity. Thanks to its practical mixing ratio of 2:1 (by volume), LOCTITE EA 9483 is easy to dispense and apply. Processing instructions
- Preparation: Keep surfaces clean, dry, and free of grease. If necessary, pre-treat with sandpaper or sandblasting.
- Mixing: Thoroughly mix resin and hardener in a ratio of 2:1 (by volume) or 100:46 (by weight). Discard the first few centimeters from double cartridges.
- Application: Apply adhesive evenly to one or both parts to be joined and join components immediately.
- Processing: Avoid large batches (>500 g) to reduce heat build-up.
- Fixation: Fix parts during curing. Handling strength after approx. 3.5 hours, full final strength after approx. 3 days at room temperature.
- Cleaning: Remove uncured adhesive with organic solvents (e.g., acetone).
Note: LOCTITE EA 9483 is not suitable for pure oxygen, chlorine, or highly oxidizing media. For optimal results, always check suitability for the specific material and application.
