Product description

BLUESIL® RTV 3221 is an addition-curing two-component silicone rubber characterized by its particularly soft Shore hardness, high elasticity, and excellent tear resistance. After mixing the A and B components, a rubber-elastic, dimensionally stable material is created with very good separability from the master model and excellent detail reproduction. RTV 3221 is particularly suitable for molds that are frequently demolded or have to reproduce complex geometries—for example, in design replication, small series production, or mold making for plaster, wax, or polyurethanes.

product features

  • 2K silicone system (addition-curing)

  • Very soft: Shore hardness A approx. 10

  • High tear and tear resistance

  • Excellent elasticity and recovery

  • Shrink-free

  • Temperature resistance: approx. –140°F to 392°F

  • Good chemical inertness – also suitable for PU and epoxy resins

  • Excellent separability and reusability

  • Mixing ratio A:B = 1:1 (by weight or volume)

  • Pot life: approx. 30 minutes, demolding after approx. 4–6 hours

  • Bubble-free casting possible, also suitable for vacuum technology

Suitable materials

  • Wax, plaster, PU resin

  • Soap or candle materials

  • Concrete, polyester (with release agent)

  • Also suitable for complex models with undercuts

Typical areas of application

  • Design and decorative shapes

  • Manufacture of flexible casting molds

  • Small-batch production in model making

  • Molded parts for casting resin or polyurethane

  • Architectural models, artistic replicas, collection of molds

  • Impression of fine structures and soft model bodies

Processing instructions

  1. Homogenize components A and B separately.

  2. Maintain an exact mixing ratio of 1:1

  3. Mix thoroughly to avoid air bubbles.

  4. If necessary, vent the vacuum.

  5. Pour or spread onto the model – do not work too quickly

  6. Cures at room temperature in approximately 4–6 hours

  7. Curing by heat can be accelerated

  8. Demold after complete cross-linking

  9. Avoid direct contact with substances containing tin, amines, or sulfur.

  10. Storage: cool, dry, in original sealed container
