Permabond® ET505 – Two-component epoxy resin adhesive with high chemical resistance and extended working time

Permabond® ET505 is a room temperature curing, two-component epoxy adhesive that offers excellent adhesion to a wide range of materials. Its high chemical resistance to oils, water, and fuels makes it particularly suitable for industrial applications where a durable and resilient bond is required.

The extended pot life of up to two hours allows for convenient processing even with larger components or in series production. The adhesive develops high shear and peel strengths and also offers excellent impact and temperature resistance. It can fill joints up to 2 mm and is ideal for bonding a wide variety of materials such as metals, ceramics, wood, plastics, and composites.

Permabond® ET505 is easy to use and cures reliably at room temperature. Careful surface preparation is recommended for maximum performance. Its strength can be influenced by controlled temperature management during curing.

  • Applications involving contact with chemicals
  • Bonding of structural components with high loads

Processing instructions

  1. Surface preparation: Clean, dry, grease-free surfaces are essential. Remove oxide layers on metals with fine emery cloth. Recommended cleaner: Permabond Cleaner A.
  2. Mixing: Mixing ratio 1:1 (by volume). Mix thoroughly, avoiding air bubbles.
  3. Application: Apply to one of the surfaces to be bonded and spread evenly.
  4. Joining: Press components together, ideally securing them with a clamping device.
  5. Curing: Do not move until completely cured. Increasing the temperature accelerates the process.
  6. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place (5–25°C).
