Description

PERMABOND® TA4605 is a two-component, reinforced acrylic adhesive with a 1:1 mix ratio. It has been specially designed for bonding low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and polyethylene—no primer or surface preparation is required. This adhesive can also be used on a wide range of other materials, such as metals and composites, and is ideal for bonding dissimilar surfaces.

Suitable substrates

It bonds a wide range of materials:

  • Plastics with low surface energy (polyolefins) in particular, e.g., polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE)
  • metals
  • composite materials
  • Different surfaces
Advantages of Permabond® TA4610
  • Rapid curing at room temperature
  • No primer required
  • High impact resistance
  • Good resistance to chemicals
  • Excellent water resistance (sticks underwater)
Note on surface pretreatment

For almost all materials, cleaning the surface is sufficient (except for aluminum, for example, which must first be roughened). If there are still traces of release agent on polyolefin plastics, these can be cleaned with Cleaner A before bonding and then dried.
