Product description
LOCTITE 406 is a single-component, transparent instant adhesive based on ethyl cyanoacrylate. Its special formula ensures extremely fast fixing and high final strength, especially on plastics and rubber. Thanks to its low viscosity, LOCTITE 406 reliably flows into the finest gaps, enabling invisible, highly stable bonds with minimal adhesive gap.
Curing takes place through air humidity, with high hand strength achieved after just a few seconds – ideal for manufacturing processes, repairs, assembly, or model making. After 24 hours, the bond is fully load-bearing and resistant to many chemicals and temperature fluctuations. LOCTITE 406 is universally applicable and adheres excellently to modern technical plastics such as ABS, PVC, polycarbonate, phenolic resin, and classic elastomers such as neoprene and nitrile rubber.
Thanks to its fast and reliable curing, LOCTITE 406 is ideal for industrial manufacturing, apparatus and plant engineering, and all assembly and repair work where fast process times and maximum precision are required.

Processing instructions
- Preparation: Keep bonding surfaces clean and free of grease (pre-treat with LOCTITE cleaner if necessary).
- Primer: A primer can be used on plastics that are difficult to bond.
- Task: Apply a drop of LOCTITE 406 to one of the surfaces, join them immediately, and hold briefly.
- Fixation: The bond reaches hand strength within a few seconds and full final strength after approx. 24 hours.
- Cleaning: Excess, uncured adhesive can be removed with acetone.
Note: LOCTITE 406 is specially optimized for demanding plastic and rubber bonding applications and offers impressive speed and reliability.
