Loctite EA 110 – High-performance metal adhesive for extreme conditions

Loctite EA 110 is a single-component, metal-filled epoxy adhesive that has been specially developed for applications involving high mechanical loads. Thanks to its excellent resistance to shear, splitting and tensile forces, this adhesive is particularly suitable for industrial applications where conventional fastening methods reach their limits.

With its silver color and paste-like consistency, EA 110 can be applied precisely and exhibits controlled flow during curing. The adhesive bonds reliably to a wide range of materials—even slightly oily steel surfaces—and offers exceptional durability and chemical resistance. The bond can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +180°C continuously and can even withstand even higher temperatures for short periods without any significant loss of adhesive strength.

Loctite EA 110 is particularly suitable for replacing conventional mechanical fastening methods. This not only improves the appearance, but also increases design freedom. In many cases, the adhesive bond is even stronger than the material being bonded itself – a clear sign of this product's high performance.

product features

  • Curing: e.g., 20 min at 180 °C (depending on component size and heating method)

Suitable materials

  • Steel (also slightly oily)
  • Aluminum and non-ferrous metals
  • ferrites
  • SMC (sheet molding compound)
  • Other metallic or mineral surfaces

Typical areas of application

  • Design and assembly in metalworking
  • Alternative to welded, riveted, or bolted connections
  • Electrical and motor engineering
  • Vehicle and mechanical engineering
  • Applications with direct contact with drinking water (according to approval)

Processing instructions

  1. Preparation: Clean and degrease the surface. For optimum adhesion, light roughening or blasting is recommended.
  2. Application: Apply adhesive to one side (not both), spread evenly and avoid air bubbles.
  3. Joining: Press components together so that the adhesive is distributed evenly.
  4. Fixation: Fix in place with light pressure and cure thermally.
  5. Curing: e.g., 60 min. at 120 °C, depending on the heating system (oven, induction, infrared, etc.).
