High-performance casting resin for industry and construction – LOCTITE UK 8101
LOCTITE UK 8101 is a modern two-component polyurethane-based adhesive that has been specially developed for structural bonding and casting applications. The unique feature of this material is its excellent combination of high strength and elasticity after curing. This makes the product ideal for applications where materials need to be mechanically resilient yet still damped or flexibly bonded.
The resin cures to a tough, elastic bond that reliably withstands thermal fluctuations and mechanical forces. This makes LOCTITE UK 8101 the first choice for numerous industries, such as:
- Vehicle construction: e.g., for walls, roofs, or underbody elements in commercial vehicles and special superstructures
- Container and refrigerated vehicle construction: in the manufacture of sandwich panels
- Construction industry: for facade elements, modular wall or roof elements
- Mechanical and plant engineering: as casting resin for filling and embedding components
- Composite materials: in prototype construction or in series applications with rigid foams, metals, or plastic sheets
Processing is simple and flexible: the product is mixed in a ratio of 4:1 (by weight) and can be poured or applied with ease. The long pot life of 50 to 70 minutes allows sufficient time for precise work—ideal for complex or large-scale applications.
Reliability that lasts – even under extreme conditions
LOCTITE UK 8101 remains stable even under changing temperatures or heavy loads. The bond remains dimensionally stable without shrinking or embrittlement—a clear advantage for designs that need to function for years.
After complete curing, the system achieves a tensile shear strength of over 6 MPa, with a usable temperature range of -40 °C to +80 °C. Curing takes place at room temperature over 5–7 days as standard. If necessary, this process can be accelerated by applying moderate heat (e.g., 60 °C).
Further technical advantages at a glance
- Excellent adhesion to various substrates such as aluminum, steel, wood, rigid foam boards, or fiberglass reinforced plastic
- Processing without solvents – environmentally friendly and low odor
- Uniform curing without volume loss
- Easy post-processing after hardening by drilling, sawing, or grinding
- Permanent structural strength even under vibration or impact loads
Efficient solution for industrial challenges
Whether for the series production of panels or for individual special solutions in building construction, LOCTITE UK 8101 adapts to your requirements. The adhesive can be processed using manual mixing systems or industrial 2K mixing systems. It is applied directly to the components, whereby sufficient contact pressure is important until initial strength is achieved.
For clean processing, we recommend mixing exactly the amount that can be used within the pot life. Excess material escaping from the adhesive gap is a good sign of even distribution.
