PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Bonderite L-GP 318 Acheson
This BONDERITE coating is one of several resin-based lubricant coatings from Henkel that have been developed to provide dry film lubrication and release properties in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. BONDERITE L-GP 318 ACHESON is a resin-bonded polytetrafluoroethylene coating with excellent lubricating and non-stick properties. Since the carrier material is water, BONDERITE L-GP 318 ACHESON can also be used where solvent-based products cannot be used due to limited ventilation. The flexible coating can be applied to non-rigid materials such as plastics (e.g., gaskets) as well as rigid substrates such as metals.
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation of the surface
All substrates should be clean and free of dirt and grease. For maximum adhesion, the substrate should be cleaned with a suitable solvent or other cleaning method. Parts must be completely dry before application.
Application
BONDERITE L-GP 318 ACHESON can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing, dip spinning, or spray misting. Spray application provides more uniform coverage of the substrate.
Dilution and mixing
The product can be used undiluted, but is usually diluted before use. Water or ethanol can be used for dilution. Ethanol allows for faster drying.
Recommended dilution ratios:
- Spray application: 5 parts product to 1 part thinner
- Dip application: 2 parts product to 1 part thinner
- Dip spinning: 2 parts product to 1 part ethanol
All ratios are by weight.
drying
The coating dries in the air in approx. 15 minutes or at 70°C in 5 minutes. After 3 hours in the air or after ½ hour at 70°C, the coating is completely dry.
