Product description

BLUESIL® RTV 147 B is the specially formulated catalyst component for cross-linking BLUESIL® RTV 147 A and RTV 148 A silicone rubbers. As a viscous liquid, it ensures controlled, uniform, and air bubble-free curing to a transparent or beige-colored silicone rubber when mixed in the correct ratio (100:10 with part A). The addition-curing reaction produces elastic vulcanizates with excellent temperature resistance (up to +300°C for short periods), ideal for embedding, insulation, and sealing applications in electronics, automation, and equipment manufacturing. The hardener is suitable for room temperature and hot curing and allows flexible processing depending on requirements.

product features

  • Function: Hardener/catalyst component

  • Viscosity (25°C): approx. 10,000 mPa·s

  • Density (25°C): approx. 1.25 g/cm³

  • Reactivity: Suitable for RTV 147 A and RTV 148 A

  • Mixing ratio: 10 parts RTV 147 B to 100 parts RTV 147 A or 148 A

  • Processing: Hand systems, dosing systems, or vacuum casting

  • Temperature resistance (vulcanized material): Briefly up to 300°C

  • Safe in combination: Compatible with other RTVs after preliminary testing

  • Can be combined: Also for RTV 147 A/148 A mixing ratios (hardness adjustment)

Suitable partner products

  • BLUESIL® RTV 147 A (beige, high hardness)

  • BLUESIL® RTV 148 A (beige, softer compound)

  • Also suitable for mixed RTV A components (e.g., 50:50 mixture)

Typical areas of application

  • Embedding and insulation in electrical engineering

  • Temperature-stable molded parts and seals

  • Thermally resistant casting molds and prototypes

  • Heavily loaded components in devices and machines

  • Manufacture of elastic, robust silicone components

Processing instructions

  1. Homogenizing: Mix RTV 147 B thoroughly before use.

  2. Mixing ratio: 100 parts A + 10 parts B (by weight)

  3. Mixing: Slowly to avoid air pockets

  4. Deaeration: Vacuum recommended (30–50 mbar), especially for RTV 147 A

  5. Networking:

    • 24–48 hours at room temperature

    • 4 hours at 65°C

    • 1 hour at 100°C

    • 30 min. at 150°C

  6. Safety: Avoid direct contact with sulfur, amines, and tin compounds.

  7. Storage: Cool, dry, sealed airtight (–5 to +30°C)
