Product description

BLUESIL® RTV 147 A and B is a two-component silicone rubber that vulcanizes at room temperature or accelerated by heat. After mixing, a viscous casting material is formed, which cures into a durable, elastic, and temperature-resistant silicone rubber. The material is ideal for heat-stressed applications such as flexible insulation, heat protection devices, molded gaskets, and as an embedding compound in electrical engineering. Thanks to its high reversal resistance, excellent mechanical properties, and good electrical insulation, BLUESIL® RTV 147 offers a reliable solution for industrial challenges. Its good compatibility with RTV 148 A also allows hardness adjustments to be made for individual requirements.

product features

  • 2K system: Mixing ratio 100:10 (A:B)

  • Vulcanization: Room temperature or heat-accelerated

  • Temperature resistance: Continuous up to 432°C, short-term up to 541°C

  • Hardness (Shore A): 60

  • Tensile strength: 6 MPa, elongation at break 180%

  • High tear resistance: > 15 kN/m

  • Insulation capacity: Volume resistivity approx. 5 × 10¹⁴ Ω·cm

  • Volume stable: shrinkage at RT almost zero

  • Thermal conductivity: 0.31 W/m·K

Processing instructions

  1. Homogenizing: Rehomogenize components A and B before mixing.

  2. Mixing: 100 parts RTV 147 A with 10 parts RTV 147 B

  3. Vent: In vacuum (30–50 mbar), select a vessel with a high D/H ratio.

  4. Pouring: Slowly and evenly, with thicker layers starting from the lowest point

  5. Curing:

    • 24–48 hours at 23°C

    • 4 hours at 65°C

    • 1 hour at 100°C

    • 30 min. at 150°C

  6. Adhesion: Optimized with primer PMB 821

  7. Post-treatment: Mechanical processing after complete cross-linking

  8. Dilution possible: With max. 10% BLUESIL FLD 47V100

Packaging and storage

BLUESIL™ RTV 147 A & B is available in 1 kg containers, as well as in larger packages for industrial applications (up to 25 kg for RTV 147 A and 20 kg for RTV 147 B). When stored between -5°C and +30°C, the shelf life is 18 months.
