Product description

BLUESIL™ RTV 141 A and B is a low-viscosity, transparent two-component silicone rubber that cures by polyaddition at room temperature or accelerated by heat. After mixing, the material produces an elastic, rubber-like vulcanizate with high optical transparency, excellent dielectric properties, and very good temperature and aging resistance. It is ideal for embedding and insulating electronic or optoelectronic components, as well as for encapsulating light-conducting fibers and sensitive electronics. Thanks to its low shrinkage and good flow properties, BLUESIL™ RTV 141 is particularly easy to process and is also suitable for complex shapes.

Processing instructions

  1. Homogenizing: Mix both components thoroughly before use.

  2. Mixing: 100 parts RTV 141 A with 10 parts RTV 141 B (by weight)

  3. Vent: In a vacuum (30–50 mbar), ideally with a large vessel diameter

  4. Processing: Pour slowly from bottom to top to avoid air pockets.

  5. Curing:

    • 24–48 hours at 23°C

    • 4 hours at 60°C

    • 2 hours at 100°C

    • 1 hour at 150°C

  6. Surface adhesion: Optionally with primer PBM 821 for improved adhesion

  7. Post-processing: Possible after complete curing

Packaging and storage

Available in containers of 1 kg (part A) + 0.100 kg (part B) and in larger quantities (up to 200 kg for part A and 20 kg for part B). The product can be stored for 24 months at temperatures between -5°C and +30°C.
