Product description

BLUESIL® RTV 3132 A is a single-component, ready-to-use silicone rubber that cures at room temperature through condensation. After curing, it forms a rubber-elastic, flexible material with very good tear resistance, low shrinkage, and high dimensional stability. Particularly noteworthy is the fine detail reproduction—even filigree structures are reproduced cleanly and dimensionally stable. RTV 3132 A is ideal for technical applications in mold and model making, small series production, and the manufacture of negative molds for processing plaster, wax, PU, or epoxy resins. The product can be combined with suitable crosslinkers such as BLUESIL® 3132 B or 3132 B SB.

product features

  • 1K silicone rubber – condensation cross-linking

  • Compatible with various crosslinkers (e.g., RTV 3132 B)

  • Shore hardness A: approx. 32

  • Rubber-elastic, dimensionally stable, and flexible

  • Low linear shrinkage

  • Good chemical resistance

  • Temperature resistant up to approx. +200 °C

  • Very good separability from the original model

  • Durable even with repeated use

Suitable materials

  • Wood, plaster, wax, clay

  • PU and epoxy casting resins (with release agent)

  • Model building materials and design models

  • Technical surface structures

Typical areas of application

  • Technical mold making

  • Model and prototype construction

  • Small-batch series production

  • Molding of decorative elements, reliefs, logos

  • Molds for plastics, soap, or candles

  • Architectural modeling, restoration technology

Processing instructions

  1. Clean the surface of the original, apply release agent if necessary

  2. Use RTV 3132 A directly or mix with a suitable crosslinking agent (e.g., 3132 B).

  3. Observe mixing ratio (e.g., 100:5 to 100:10, depending on the crosslinker)

  4. Mix without air bubbles, ideally vent

  5. Pour into prepared mold or shape

  6. Curing at room temperature – can be removed from the mold after approx. 12–24 hours

  7. Longer curing improves mechanical properties

  8. Avoid contact with substances containing tin, amines, or sulfur.

  9. Store in original packaging in a cool, dry place.
