Product description

BLUESIL® RTV 3040 B SB is a special variant of the hardener component for the RTV 3040 A silicone system. The "SB" formulation (Slow B) is specifically designed for applications that require a longer processing time, such as large-volume molds, complex geometries, or manual venting. In combination with RTV 3040 A, it produces a rubber-elastic, soft silicone with outstanding tear resistance, low Shore hardness, and very good dimensional stability. Its good flowability, coupled with an extended pot life, allows for precise replicas even with fine structures.

Processing instructions

  1. RTV 3040 A and B SB: homogenize well before use.

  2. Mixing ratio 100:10 (by weight)

  3. Mix thoroughly, avoiding air bubbles as much as possible.

  4. Deaeration recommended, but possible without vacuum thanks to long pot life

  5. Pouring or painting onto the prepared model

  6. Curing: approx. 12 hours at room temperature, can be accelerated by heat

  7. Demolding after complete cross-linking

  8. Avoid contact with substances containing tin or sulfur.

  9. Store in a cool, dry, and airtight place.
