SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32
SILISIL ·

SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 is a room-temperature vulcanizing two-component addition-curing silicone (platinum-cured, RTV-2) from the MF-Mold & Form series — a two-component addition-curing silicone with a Shore A hardness of 32, designed for detailed mold making and pad printing molds.

The mixture is prepared in a 1:1 ratio by weight (tolerance ±5%). Pot life at 23 °C is approximately 10 minutes; demolding is possible after approximately 90 minutes; full cure is achieved after 24 hours. Temperature resistance: –40 °C to +200 °C.

Key feature

Suitable for food contact in chocolate molds up to 70 °C — 1:1 addition system by weight, addition-curing, low-shrinkage, and temperature-resistant from −40 to +200 °C.

What sets SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 apart

Vulcanization at room temperature
Cures at room temperature—no oven, no UV lamp, and no special equipment required.
High tensile strength
High tear strength — resistant to mechanical stress during demolding.
No shrinkage
Shrink-free during addition curing — the part is dimensionally stable immediately, with no waiting time.
High dimensional accuracy and precision
High dimensional accuracy — the mold retains its shape even after prolonged storage.
Tested for chocolate applications up to 70 °C
Food-safe following appropriate certification testing — ideal for chocolate and confectionery up to 70 °C.
Good processing viscosity
Practical viscosity — flows well but remains manageable when applied in multiple layers.

What is SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 used for?

Chocolate and Pastry Molds
Food-safe up to 70 °C — precision molds for chocolates, pralines, and chocolate bars, designed for artisanal chocolatiers and professional pastry shops.
Printing pads for pad printing
Silicone tampons with excellent ink transfer and dimensional stability—transfer ink from the printing plate to plastic, glass, and metal parts in industrial marking applications.
High-detail molds for small-batch production
Reproduction of intricate models featuring lettering, microstructures, and sharp edges—jewelry, toy prototypes, decorative components.
Concrete and stone replicas
Excellent compatibility with cement-based mixtures — paving stones, facade elements, and decorative architectural components in small batches.
Undercuts and negative molds
An elongation at break of 370% and a tensile strength of 10 N/mm allow complex geometries to be demolded without damage.
Industrial Master Models
Shrink-arm reproduction of master models for vacuum casting, resin casting, and small-batch manual production.

processing

1
Prepare the original
The surface to be coated must be clean, dry, and free of dust. The ideal application temperature is 23 °C—cooler environments significantly extend the pot life and curing time.
2
Homogenize and mix the components
Stir the base and catalyst thoroughly before use. Weigh out a 1:1 ratio by weight (tolerance ±5%). When mixing, make sure to thoroughly incorporate the mixture along the sides and bottom of the container.
3
Vacuum venting
To ensure pore-free molds, briefly degas the mixture under vacuum—this removes trapped air bubbles and ensures a smooth mold surface.
4
Pour slowly into the mold
Pour in a thin stream from a height of about 30 cm into the deepest part—the silicone will displace the air on its own and reach all the undercuts.
5
Vulcanization and demolding
At 23 °C, the part can be removed from the mold after approximately 90 minutes; full curing occurs after 24 hours. Allow a 24-hour "curing period" before the first casting to ensure maximum strength.

Important information

Avoid cross-linking inhibitors
Additive systems such as MF-Dura 32 are sensitive to sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds—particularly latex gloves, modeling compounds, adhesive tapes, and some paints. If in doubt, make a small test casting before use.
Storage and shelf life
When stored unopened in its original container in a dry, cool place (10–25 °C), the product has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before opening.
Available sizes
1 kg + 1 kg, 5 kg + 5 kg, 25 kg + 25 kg, 200 kg + 200 kg. Other package sizes available upon request.
Compatibility
Compatible with polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting resins. When using aggressive resins, apply a release agent to protect the mold.

Frequently Asked Questions About SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32

Practical questions regarding application and design — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 is a two-component addition-cure silicone (Shore A 32, brown-red) designed for chocolate and confectionery molds and related applications. Two-component addition-cure silicone (Shore A 32) for detailed mold making and pad printing molds

At 23 °C, the pot life is approximately 10 minutes and the demolding time is approximately 90 minutes. Full cure is achieved after 24 hours. Lower temperatures extend these times, while higher temperatures shorten them.

As an addition-curing system, SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 is sensitive to cross-linking inhibitors: sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds can halt the curing process locally. Avoid using latex gloves, sulfur-containing modeling compounds, certain types of adhesive tape, and PVC plasticizers in the immediate vicinity of the mold. If in doubt, make a small test casting.

SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 is mixed in a 1:1 ratio by weight (base to catalyst), with a tolerance of no more than ±5%. Homogenize both components separately before mixing, then work the mixture in thoroughly—including the sides and bottom of the container. Brief vacuum degassing of the mixture is recommended to ensure pore-free molds.

SILISIL RTV MF-Dura 32 achieves a Shore A hardness of 32 (ASTM D 2240), a tensile strength of >4.5 N/mm² (ASTM D 412), an elongation at break of approx. 370%, and a tear resistance of 10 N/mm (ASTM D 624).
